Unfortunately these have now been slightly chewed at the back by puppy who is now one year old – and yes still running off with my shoes. Sob!

With the forth day of advent drawing to a close, it is fair to say most people are getting into the festive spirit. I am currently writing this listening to a bit of Chris Rea – Driving Home for Christmas. It’s December, don’t judge!
So in this festive spirit I thought I would share with you my budget decoration. If you have read previous posts you will know I like a candle or two, so here are my two new tea light candle holders:
These two red stars are available from most larger Sainsbury’s stores, unfortunately they are not available online. (Tea lights not included)
I think they look lovely when lit, the light disperses through the red glass creating a lovely red glow around the candle, giving it a real Christmas nights feel.
Do you like these decoration? What do you prefer, do you go big with your decorations or do you prefer a more subtle touch? Let us know and leave a comment or Tweet us @thesarahsblog
Last year i missed Halloween as i was ill, so this year i am combating any illness with happy thoughts from my nails.
Below are a variety of nail designs for Halloween this year. You can do as i have and have something different for each nail or choose one (maybe it goes with your outfit?) and keep the theme across all your nails.
*Warning* you definitely need a steady hand for this, but give it a go. These are Halloween nails after all, so if the face of your ghost gets a little smudged then just call it artistic development and say its to make it look that little bit more scary…
This first hand is my favorite, it was much easier to paint as i’m right handed. It also contains my favorite two designs the mummy face (on my thumb) and the monochrome ghost (on my ring finger). I think for Halloween i will be going monochrome and a mixture of these two designs.
This hand i experimented with texture and colour, to be honest it was pretty fun. I also love how versatile my new Barry M nail foil is!
