Summer colours

By Sarah Redman

This lovely little post contains a few outfits for my friend Georgia’s (of Life’s little Ponderings) 20th birthday!

I am loving this sunny weather and so are my girls. So for G’s birthday BBQ and night out we all chose summer brights for our outfits – sorry there are no full length photos (we may have been more focused on the Pimms than the photos).

I wore my new patterned crop top from New Look (Blue Tribal Print Crop Vest £5.99), AB wore a simple red cami from Miss Selfridge, while birthday girl GP wore a yellow tee from ASOS (Petite top in texture £22.00) and stunning a statement necklace from Zara (retailing between £19.99 & £29.99).

My outfit was completed with a nude body con skirt from H&M and wooden chunky heals from Clarks. AB wore a white skort also from Miss Selfridge (Origami skort £30.00) and her shoes were nude heals from Russell and Bromley. GP competed her look with a floral patterned skort from ASOS (Premium skort in bright floral £35.00) and some awesome wedges from Topshop (Wish Buckle Espadrilles Black £42.00). Yes they are on my wish list so I knew them straight away!

My new favourite outfit

By Sarah Redman

This year I decided to avoid the sales as much as I could. I took one look at my wardrobe and thought seriously this needs a clear out. Frankly, that bright idea of mind is still sitting on my to do list, but I have done what I consider to be very well in the sales. With only two clothes purchases and one pair of shoes… and a little bit of make-up. But in fairness Boots had some kind of major reduction flash sale just as I finished work… would have been rude not to really.

My new favourite outfit comes from a couple of different places. My first sale purchase was the shoes, with my collection hovering around the 60 pairs I figured one more pair couldn’t hurt. I was right my lovely new Nine West courts definitely don’t hurt my feet! I found these lovelies in the Fenwicks sale for £39.00 reduced from £125.00.

My second sale item is this lovely burgundy pencil skirt from Dorothy Perkins, actually bought on my lunch break whilst I was shopping for someone else but it was just sitting there in my size for a tenner. So I snapped it up and even got student discount on my sale purchase – bonus.

The last addition is a staple black t-shirt. This is a H&M number I’ve had for a while, although it hasn’t seen many outings. I first bought this in a cream at the beginning of summer and wore it to death, so at the end of the season thought a black version would come in handy for Autumn/Winter. I love the subtle detail of the mesh shoulders and around the neck, this tee also has a gold zip running from the back of the neck through to the end of the mesh.

Finally I accessorised with black opaque tights as its winter and there is some serious chill in the air right now. Alongside one of my amazing Christmas presents from my parents, my gold chain and black rope statement necklace.

Unfortunately I can’t find my mum’s camera anywhere and for some reason this was the only one in use the night of our belated New Years gathering with old friends of the family, so no photo’s of me on the night! Sorry, although I will post an update when I find a decent photo – or even wear this outfit again.

Accessorize

By Sarah Redman

I have loved this accessories giant for as long as i can remember, everything from some of my first pairs of earrings, to school bags, to friends birthday presents – Accessorize has it all.

Now they have a rather lovely brand image for Autumn / Winter 2013 too, with ex-model and actress Tamsin Egerton – you probably know her as Chelsea Parker from St. Trinnians. She takes over where their face of Spring / Summer 2013, Kate Upton, left off. There is a stark contrast between the two campaigns; going from fluorescent brights, bikinis, and flip flops to burgundy’s, navy’s, a touch of taupe and the good old monochrome, back again for Autumn / Winter.

I love the necklace layering going on throughout the whole campaign, especially those seen in the photo visible across the magazine campaign. Burgundy is my favorite colour so finding two necklaces from Accessorize that tick the statement necklace yet still girly (with a bohemian vibe) box was a complete bonus. I must say they are both most definitely on my Autumn / Winter wish list.

I am also pretty in love with the Mari Tote (£39.00/£34.00), back for another season in many more colours and styles, but once again the burgundy tips it for me!

What do you think of Accessorize’s offerings this season? Have you got a few things on your wish list or will they make lovely Christmas presents? Leave a comment and let us know or Tweet us your purchases @thesarahsblog

Statement necklaces for instant impact

Geek chic

By Sarah Hugill

Comfortable in Sloane square, Chelsea, for a day out with the marge!

It seems the heavens have opened and with not a sunny spell in the sky I thought i’d share a  favourite outfit of mine, from warmer days!

Image

I chose to team my grey leopard print Nike Air Max trainers from Office, with a grey skater skirt, a black crop top, an oversized cream bag, white laced socks and a silver statement necklace all courtesy of Topshop.

Call me boring but I often opt for darker colours as they’re easy to co-ordiante and can be worn come rain or shine!

What do you think of this outfit let us know @thesarahsblog

Appealing in Aztec

The Aztec print has taken the highstreet by storm this summer, as I previously blogged in Daring in Denim. I couldn’t resist this quirky Aztec printed crop from, as I like to call Primarchaaaa aka, Primark.
