Awesome Etsy

By Sarah Redman

This post is basically a big shout out to my amazing house mate Liesbeth.

Recently she ordered some midi rings off the lovely Etsy and luckily for me she ordered three pairs and decided to give one of them to me!

She went for the buy two get one free deal: two pairs in silver plated and one in rose gold. I went for the silver plated in size US 3.5 as I have been wearing a lot of silver jewellery recently. The delivery on these was great arriving way earlier than expected – so now I’m totally in love with these ring’s shop: Henju Indonesia.

I absolutely love my rings, they are nice and light and very wearable. I also love the swirl design and the fact they are hand made. These rings are great as you can wear them in lots of different ways, showing the design or just the plain side.

My lovely rings (excuse the nail polish – blame it on the washing up)

The perfect pandora present

By Sarah Hugill

It’s official i’m obsessed with Pandora so when the girls brought me this oxidised silver flower ring, for my 20th it showed they know me all too well! These Pandora rings are great as you can build them up with additional rings to make your own creation, at your fingertips literally!

“That’s one hell of a ring!”

By Sarah Redman

20131118-220059.jpg

This my new ring from H&M and yes, it is a bit of a knuckle duster to be perfectly honest. But I love the patterns.

I have been getting so many comments when I wear this, with everyone from my radio lecturer at uni to the barrister in my local Nero’s… and I quote:

“That’s one hell of a ring! How does it even work?”

20131118-220106.jpg

That has been the main concern of those commenting – that I could still move my hand, so I will assure you I can and I barely notice I’m wearing it, maybe because I will wear rings like Phoebe from Friends and it won’t bother me – who knows!

Halloween Jewels: Suicide Blonde

By Sarah Redman With Halloween this week many people will be sorting their costumes, some will go big and spend on their outfit, others will have a go at the face paint, but some will stick to the accessories. So … Continue reading

Accessorize

By Sarah Redman

I have loved this accessories giant for as long as i can remember, everything from some of my first pairs of earrings, to school bags, to friends birthday presents – Accessorize has it all.

Now they have a rather lovely brand image for Autumn / Winter 2013 too, with ex-model and actress Tamsin Egerton – you probably know her as Chelsea Parker from St. Trinnians. She takes over where their face of Spring / Summer 2013, Kate Upton, left off. There is a stark contrast between the two campaigns; going from fluorescent brights, bikinis, and flip flops to burgundy’s, navy’s, a touch of taupe and the good old monochrome, back again for Autumn / Winter.

I love the necklace layering going on throughout the whole campaign, especially those seen in the photo visible across the magazine campaign. Burgundy is my favorite colour so finding two necklaces from Accessorize that tick the statement necklace yet still girly (with a bohemian vibe) box was a complete bonus. I must say they are both most definitely on my Autumn / Winter wish list.

I am also pretty in love with the Mari Tote (£39.00/£34.00), back for another season in many more colours and styles, but once again the burgundy tips it for me!

What do you think of Accessorize’s offerings this season? Have you got a few things on your wish list or will they make lovely Christmas presents? Leave a comment and let us know or Tweet us your purchases @thesarahsblog

Mum’s the word

By Sarah Redman

20130816-221336.jpg
I have always loved my Mum’s style, although sometimes I have steered her in the right direction, but I remember watching her get ready for a night with the girls or a dinner party in lovely dresses, pretty jewellery (which I subsequently raided her jewellery box for) and of course the high heels – no wonder I’m obsessed with shoes, I was just at the right height to raid her wardrobe!
Here she has a great smart casual style going on for dinner with the girls. I love the top and tapered trousers with the summer pumps, a really great take on a smart casual summer dinner look.

Add a little sparkle to everyday life

By Sarah Redman

I love a good pair of earrings: super heavy dangley jewelled ones; feathers; dainty precious ones; gem stones; patterns; hoops, studs, chandelier, drop; all shapes, sizes, and colours – you name it i probably have a pair.

But recently I have just been wearing a variety of larger earrings, whilst i have a large collection of everyday wearable studs (which i like to wear when working as its more practical) I just couldn’t find a pair to wear. So being as i had been working hard I decided to treat my self to a pair (or five!) from Accessorize.

Stone Square Stud Set (also available in a circular design)

I love these studs, the pack of five gave a variety of colour choice with the added benefit of the square jewelled design.

End of Summer Final Sales

By Sarah Redman

Its is nearing the end of September, Autumn is officially settling in, the jumpers are creeping out, boots, scarves, you name it – the winter wardrobe is here. That can only mean one thing, the end of the summer sales, okay it may be slim pickings, but the final discounts have been applied and if you are lucky you will get a great bargain! I was recently in Fenwicks and wondered over to their Wearhouse Sale section, there wasn’t much left in my size in the way of clothes, but never one to pass up some new jewellery, i had a quick browse and came up trumps.

This is my new Graduated Box Chain Necklace – £3.00 (Sale price)

I love it, it is so versatile, yet understated and not too blingy, it also comes in a bracelet form – still available on their website (not in the sale).

(Graduated Box Chain Bracelet – £6.00)

This is my other purchase, my new Diamante ring – £1.00 (Sale price)

I thought this was a great purchase and have worn it almost everyday since. This ring can be easily stacked with others you already have to great a bolder look or worn on its own for a minimalistic look. It is now available as part of a set on their website (not in the sale).

(Mixed Row Diamante Rings – £10.00)

Prom styling

By Sarah Redman
Now I am having a bit of a moment as i am feeling a tad old, having watched my sister and her friends get ready for their year 11 prom the other evening. But on the upside I though I would share with you how one group of friends can be so diverse in their outfits yet still all look fabulous. So here they are with a glass of Martin Asti #yum all looking lovely:
Prom Photo I asked each of the girls to choose a favourite part of their outfit (and if they couldn’t choose I was quick to tell them what I was loving!) so below are their outfits and my featured favourite bits.
Prom Shoes - Gold Bow

Grace Redman: Gold bow detail shoes (Forever 21)

It is no secret that the right pair of shoes can make an outfit, this was certainly the case for my sister – we had months of trying to find the right shoes and then the bag to match! But in the end she went for these lovely gold ribbon shoes. I really like these which follow the metallic trends, but are a little different to the usual covered in glitter heels.

Back of Blue Dress - Short

Mimi Marshall: Back detail blue lace dress (Xenia)

I am really loving the low back on this dress, complete with bow detail, I think it is a really refreshing way of showing some skin in an understated sexy way. I also love the pop of colour, very summery, which is a nice difference to traditional prom colours (and great with matching shoes – forget the bag, matching shoes and dress is where it’s at).

Colour block dress

Freya Edwards: Colour block maxi dress (Gas Station)

Whilst this dress is a colour block maxi, which i think is great as it is a bit more daring than the usual prom dress, in the main photo the skirt of the dress does in fact look tie dye. This is thanks to the dappled light coming through the trees in the garden- meaning just by standing in the right place you can work two trends in one dress. Genius!

Bracelet / ring

Emmi Palmer: Floral bracelet / ring combo (Miss Selfridge)

It is no secret I love a good bit of jewellery, however the whole ring / bracelet combo thing is something i have never really tired! So to see this lovely bracelet give the outfit a little something extra was great, a subtle approach to prom jewellery which i sometimes find a little too blingy for my tastes (and it looks awesome with a champagne glass!)

Back of Blue Dress - Long

Ella Spencer: Navy diamonte back detail maxi dress (AX Paris)

I am absolutely loving how elegant this dress is, I have never bought from AX Paris before but this dress has definitely inspired me to have a look if I need something nice for an occasion. Again this has the great back detail, but this time with navy diamanté across the shoulders.

Prom Shoes - Red

Ciara Murphy: Red patient platform ‘Dorothy’ shoes (Call It Spring)

I love the Call It Spring range of shoes and got rather excited when they became available in the UK. I have nicknamed these shoes ‘Dorothy Shoes’ simply because to me they are. I love how shoes can become a statement and completely change an outfit. These shoes are ticking many style boxes in patient and platform – but goodness knows how Ciara managed to walk in the all night!
