By Sarah Redman

Socks are a winter basic and these lovely pairs from Topshop are no different. Both us Sarah’s are a fan of the lacey sock, we own so many pairs between us in all different colours, I figured one more par couldn’t hurt.

I am loving velvet this season so to see some velvet trimmed socks in my favourite colour was fantastic. These socks are so cute and would look great with a chunky black sandal to keep your toes warm!

Finally I think the third pair of socks are so much fun. The gold running through the socks definitely bling’s up your outfit and I think a little bit of gold this time of year makes everything seem that little bit more Christmasy.

These socks were a lovely present from my mum whilst out Christmas shopping together, they retail at £3.50 each or you can buy 3 pairs for £8.00. All the styles are available in a range of colours.

I love the pale blue colour, I am really loving pastels this summer and like how this has been paired with lace on this sweet cami.

Lace must haves

By Sarah Hugill

Combining comfort with style Topshop have these gorgeous lace trim boxers for just 3 for £10!

Topshop boxers

All girls love to update their underwear draw once in a while, so why not treat yourself at Topshop! As a fellow fan of Topshop underwear, when Emily Connah showed me these that she recently brought I thought they deserved a blog post!

The cream and navy, and similar white and navy pairs (despite looking black in the photo) are sexy yet sophisticated made of just lace, while the floral pair with white lace trim are a great addition for that summary wardrobe!

Flattering Frenchies

By Sarah Hugill

With summer coming up why not brighten up your underwear draw with this pack of 3 frenchies for just £6 from Peacocks.

Frenchies from peacocks

After my previous post ‘You can’t go wrong with lace’ featuring another pack of 3 thongs that I reviewed from Peacocks, these frenchies caught my eye, combing lace and silk for a comfy yet stylish feel.  The pack features a white, coral and aqua pair so there’s plenty of choice to compliment any outfit, whether you need a white pair to hide under that crisp white summer dress, or a brighter pair to add to some colour to your outfit, even if it is underneath!

These appear to be great value for money and frenchies are extremely flattering, whether you could be the next ‘bootylicious’ Beyonce or have a more petite shape, they’re give a perfect fit.

Paper Lashes

By Sarah Redman

Paperself Eyes

I discovered these beauties a few years ago at London Fashion Weekend, when I spotted various people wondering around the shopping area with the most amazing eyes and felt totally underdressed in the makeup department. Needless to say I didn’t take this lying down and made my friend queue for half an hour till I got my lashes!

Last Import - 24

The brand I lusted after, Paperself, were the designers of my ‘peacock’ inspired lashes, and yes, the clue is in the name: they are made from paper! My first thought was how easy will it be for me to give myself a paper cut with these things and the second will I pick them up and rip them?! But after my free trail I was sold.

Previously, I have never been too impressed with False Lashes. I have a phobia of spiders and the idea of sticking ‘dead’ ones to my face was kinda creepy! The glue was always too messy and my hand-eye co-ordination didn’t help one bit.

The designs I saw shown at London Fashion Weekend were original, dainty, and fresh. Recently many celebrities have been spotted with designs on their lashes, from letters, to block colours, and patterns. This is becoming a lucrative industry, the lashes can be a real talking point, and can make a great feature or just glam up an outfit!

Paperself quotes Marcel Proust on its website -“The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” Paperself was ‘launched in 2009 by London based designer Chunwei Liao’ and in September of 2011 worked on a pair of Lashes for the V&A. The lashes ‘inspired by nineteenth century French silk bobbin lace’ and are just beautiful! They have recently won themselves a spot on the Nylon 2012 Beauty Hit List as well. Find out more on their blog.

Check out their website to see the quirky ways they display their lashes and maybe even bag a few yourselves!

My latest favourites are the Birds, also their London Skyline design – awesome, but where is The Shard?

The beauty of Paperself is their versatility. The lashes can be cut to leave only one section of the pattern you want which can be attached to the outer corner of your eye: on the top lash for a minimalistic look with a difference or glue to your lower lash line for a statement effect (slightly easier than testing your eyeliner skills).

[Both ways seen on the model – Grace Redman: “These feel so light on, normally false lashes just annoy me.”]

With such a variety of lashes available now, from glitter to gem studded, you can be spoilt for choice. But if you are looking for something special then try these guys, with their wide range of patterns and ever growing company you will find what works for your outfit.

You can’t go wrong with lace

By Sarah Hugill

These lace thongs come in a pack of 3 for only £6!

Black thongs

Peacocks offer a wide range of underwear with different designs and colours but unfortunately, like many other stores they seem to assume that the biggest sized boobs in the country is a D cup!

An obvious VPL is hardly flattering so often a thong is essential, or if there’s a chance you may get out a taxi in a less than elegant fashion… perhaps in a little black dress after too much vodka then black undies may make the situation less obvious than a pair of bright neon frenchies!

I love the polka dot bows on the back of these thongs, as they add a playful touch and I always think you can’t go wrong with lace underwear.
