So sometimes life just takes over, but we will be back. Sarah and I are just back at uni and the daunting thought of deadlines and exams is becoming all to real. The reality is that you get half way though a blog post and then realise you really ought to do some shorthand. So, sorry for a our posts being few and far between, but we do have some lovely posts in the pipeline, from homemade face masks, to our outfit of the day and then of course the good old nail polish post! (A lot of nail polish has been worn over the festive period)
So if you are an avid follower or just check our blog when you get a chance, thank you for keeping with us and we will be back and blogging soon!
Do you have any posts you want to see us write? Or any products you want us to review? Then please do the usual and comment below, post on out Facebook page or Tweet us @thesarahsblog… or even send us a good old fashioned email (we promise to start checking them again!)
Last week I finished my TV unit for this year, with deadline mania for a TV news package and a group documentary, I decided I needed an early Christmas present from myself. Thats when I got the email from shoeaholics.com and innocently clicked the link to the site.
My particular purchase just happened to be 90% off – I’m a sucker for a good deal and £150.00 down to £15.00 was just too good for me to by-pass. Especially when these are the shoes I have lusted after since they first came out and I couldn’t justify the price tag on a student budget.
I don’t think i am necessarily known for my budgeting, most probably due to the size of my shoe collection, however now the uni term has started the realities of paying rent, bills and on top of that the food shop have meant i’m doing my best to curb any excessive expenditure.
Being as i’m studying journalism i put magazine purchases under ‘course materials’ in my budget, so i have been keeping up with the autumn / winter trends. I have mentioned in previous posts that the oversized jumper is here to stay. Personally i think it is just the fashion industry realising last winter was just too cold and went on way too long, so have given us the oversized jumper for this season.
One of the big colours on the catwalks for autumn / winter 2013 was burgundy, the rich wine colour can immediately give your look a winter appeal. So i thought why not combine these two trends into one with my last purchase before i left for uni.
This burgundy jumper with shoulder patches is actually a men’s jumper, but for £16.00 from F&F Tesco’s i couldn’t resist the size small (just roll the sleeves up and you are good to go). The brown suede patches on the shoulders, differs from the usual elbow patch style seen on many knits last year. Unfortunately for me this jumper is now in the sale at £12.00, but on the upside it does also come in a rather nice navy blue.

Summer is coming to a close which means its time to go back to uni, so lately The Sarah’s Style Blog has been a little busy with packing, work and puppy duty. But hopefully from now on we will get more of a chance to blog… we are always surrounded by fashion, beauty and style so keep a look out for our new posts!
New nail polish, coats, shoes and jewellery to come…
